This Privacy Policy explains how The Italian Edition processes personal data when you visit our website, contact us, apply for Trade Access or purchase from us.

Personal data we process

Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:

• your name, email address, telephone number and billing and shipping addresses;
• order, payment and transaction information; full payment-card details are normally handled by our payment provider rather than by us;
• delivery, return, complaint and customer-service information;
• account and Trade information, such as company or studio name, website, company or VAT number and information submitted in a Trade application;
• communications with us;
• technical information such as IP address, device and browser information and cookie or similar identifiers; and
• marketing preferences and consent records.

Why we process data and our legal bases

• Orders and customer service: to receive, administer, process payment for, deliver and follow up purchases and to handle returns and complaints. This processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• Legal obligations: for accounting, tax, product and consumer-law obligations and where we are required to disclose information to authorities. The legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
• Security and business operations: to prevent fraud and misuse, protect our website, provide support, troubleshoot problems and establish or defend legal claims. We rely on our legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
• Trade applications: to review and administer an application and a potential business relationship. We rely on steps taken before entering into a contract and, where appropriate, our legitimate interests in managing professional customer relationships.
• Marketing and non-essential analytics: we rely on consent where consent is required by law. Direct marketing may in some circumstances also be carried out where another lawful basis is permitted. You can always opt out of direct marketing.

Who we share data with

Where necessary, we share personal data with categories of recipients such as Shopify and other e-commerce and IT service providers, payment providers, carriers and logistics providers, manufacturers or suppliers where required to fulfil an order, email, analytics and marketing providers, professional advisers, and public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

Service providers processing personal data on our behalf are required to process it in accordance with our instructions and applicable data-protection law.

Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Some service providers may process personal data outside the EU/EEA. Where such a transfer requires additional safeguards, we use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another mechanism permitted under applicable data-protection law.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, and thereafter for as long as required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Accounting and transaction records are retained for the period required under applicable accounting and tax laws. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or the data is otherwise no longer needed. Trade application data is not kept longer than is justified for the application and any resulting business relationship.

We use essential cookies for functions such as the shopping cart, security and the basic operation of the website. Non-essential cookies, for example for analytics or marketing, are used only after consent where consent is required by law. Your rights

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
