These Terms of Service apply to purchases from The Italian Edition through theitalianedition.com unless separate terms have expressly been agreed for a particular Trade, project or bespoke order. Mandatory consumer law always takes precedence where these terms would otherwise provide a consumer with less protection.

2. Orders and formation of the contract

When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase the selected products. A contract is formed when we accept the order, normally through an order confirmation or another clear confirmation of acceptance. We may contact you if information needs to be verified before an order is accepted.

We reserve the right to correct obvious technical, typographical or pricing errors. If such an error affects an order already placed, we will contact you and handle the order in accordance with applicable law; we will not cancel a consumer order solely by relying on a minor or unclear pricing discrepancy.

3. Handmade products and natural variations

Murano glass is handmade. Small variations in colour tone, texture, bubbles, measurements and the form of the glass can occur between individual pieces and are part of the handcrafted character. Such normal variations do not in themselves constitute a defect where the product otherwise conforms to its description and what the customer can reasonably expect.

Product photography aims to represent colour and proportions accurately, but screens, lighting and the handmade production process can affect how a shade appears.

4. Bespoke and project orders

Selected models can be adapted in areas such as size, hanging height, frame finish, glass colour or configuration. Project-specific specifications should be stated in a written quotation, order confirmation or other written agreement. Products made to individual specifications or clearly personalised may fall within an exception to a statutory right of withdrawal. Please see our Refund Policy.

5. Prices, taxes and payment

Prices are shown in the currency and with the taxes applicable to the selected market according to the information displayed in the store and at checkout. The total amount charged by us, including applicable shipping charges and taxes collected by us, is shown before the order is completed.

For international shipments, customs duties, import VAT or other charges may apply if they are not collected at checkout. Please see our Shipping Policy.

Payment is made using the payment methods offered at checkout. A payment provider's own terms may apply to its service.

6. Delivery

Estimated production and delivery times vary by product and destination. Many fixtures are packed separately, so one order may consist of several shipments. Shipping charges and other delivery terms are described in our Shipping Policy.

For consumers, risk in the product passes when you, or a person designated by you, receives the product unless mandatory law provides otherwise. Separate delivery terms may be agreed for business and project purchases.

7. Withdrawal, returns and refunds

Our Refund Policy explains returns, statutory withdrawal rights and refunds. These terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights.

8. Faults, complaints and transport damage

If a product is faulty, damaged or does not conform to the order, please contact us as soon as possible and describe the issue. Photographs are particularly helpful for transport damage. For consumer purchases governed by Swedish law, the Swedish Consumer Sales Act provides a three-year period for complaints concerning original defects. Consumers in other countries retain any mandatory rights applicable to their purchase.

9. Electrical installation and safety

Hardwiring and other electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional in accordance with the rules applicable at the place of installation. Check the product's electrical specification and that it matches the destination and specification confirmed for the order before installation. A damaged light fixture must not be installed or used before it has been checked.

10. Trade and business customers

If you purchase for a company, studio or other business activity, statutory consumer withdrawal rights and other consumer-protection rules do not apply. Trade and project orders may be subject to a separate quotation, discount, payment terms, delivery schedule and other written terms. Where there is a conflict, the specifically agreed Trade or project terms take precedence over these general terms to the extent permitted by law.

11. Website and intellectual property

Text, images, graphics, trademarks and other content on the website belong to The Italian Edition/Home & Stories Atelier AB or are used with permission and may not be copied or used commercially without permission except as allowed by law.

12. Liability and events outside our reasonable control

We remain responsible for our products and contractual obligations as required by applicable mandatory law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

If performance is temporarily prevented or materially hindered by an event outside our reasonable control, the situation will be handled in accordance with applicable law. We will inform affected customers as soon as reasonably practicable where an order is materially affected.

14. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies to the agreement, without depriving a consumer of the protection provided by mandatory consumer rules in the country of the consumer's habitual residence where those rules apply.

If we cannot resolve a consumer dispute directly, a Swedish consumer may, where the board is competent, refer the matter to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). A dispute may also be brought before a competent court.
